Professional Work
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” - Nelson Mandela
This is one of my favorite quotes, it vindicates what I do - Teach others. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would pursue a career in aviation, specifically flight training. In my current position, I am able to educate, support, guide, lead, etc. others so that they may reach their goals and change the aviation industry!
Chief Flight Instructor
In this role, I have the distinct privilege of supporting and guiding students in acquiring the technical skills necessary to become skilled aviators (as students), while also fostering the development of essential leadership and interpersonal skills (as flight instructors).

The situations I experience in this role, as well as the students I teach, has reinforced my philosophies of learning and teaching. I believe that for learning to occur:
-
We must understand what the outcomes of our teaching/training are.
-
We must try to understand the learners' backgrounds, needs, habits. goals, etc. to adapt our teaching accordingly.
-
Use strategies that foster mastery of content, confidence, resilience, and joy; while reducing fear of learning, embarrassment, and negative environments.

AT24900 - Instrument Lectures
In Fall 2017 semester, a fellow instructor and myself taught this course within our Part 141 curriculum. We divided the work by co-teaching and preparing materials for the course. Sine most of the course was taught by a long-time professor, all material was on physical paper and nothing online. Therefore, the instructor and myself re-designed the material to fit an online format, while still teaching face-to-face.

Below are materials from the course.

A re-design of the course was done on Summer 2020 to accommodate for the course moving to an 8 week course. Contact me for details and access to our re-design documents.
Teaching Experiences

Flight Training
As a Certified Flight Instructor, MEI, I continue to do one-on-one and face-to-face teaching. At the beginning of my flight instructing career I taught majority of private pilot and instrument students. Now, the students I teach are those training for their multi-engine rating.
The course, and others I have taught, have been in accordance to the school's training course outline and standard operating procedures.
